shows the amount of run-off from the streets and storm drain

The small telephone pole sticking up just short of the water
line is where the lifeguard tower usually sits in the summer
before being hauled back some 50 feet during the winter:
There was rain run-off even from the bike path:
During the summer months, the sand should return towards
the ocean. If it does not, the 18th Street ocean swimmers
will have to swim some 40 or 50 feet more as a practice
ocean swim:
