July 4, 2010 Ocean Swim

On a day that started out with low clouds and bigger than normal waves, five of us did another Independence Day Ocean Swim. As the picture (taken by Don this time-double click to enlarge) below suggests, most of us were ready to swim, particularly Jonathan and Chuck who wore a wetsuit. Only on the fourth of July Dave showed apprehension, but he did fine even without a wetsuit. The swim to 34th Street was fast, the swim back to 18th Street very slow due to a strong southerly swell (to the north):
